Wild Yam

Within the herbal tradition, Wild Yam is used to decrease spasm in the large intestines and uterus. It was, until recently, used as the principle raw material in the manufacture of oral contraceptives. It may also be useful to relieve symptoms associated with menopause.

Recommended for:

  • Painful menstruation (dysmennorhoea)
  • Ovarian pain and muscle cramps occuring after delivery
  • Intestinal colitis and diverticulitis
  • Inflammation of joints due to arthritis
